Local News | Water, water everywhere
If you watch the television news or follow Facebook posts, you will have seen that our lovely area of the Guadalhorce Valley has received more than its fair share of rain in the last few months. Starting with the terrible DANA which devasted Valencia and took its toll on Álora, to the never ending rainfall of recent weeks. We have had a years rain in just a few weeks, and while this is good news for future water supplies, the lakes in Ardales/El Chorro are full to bursting, it has also brought problems to many of the country areas, with tracks washed away and bridges impassable! Even the town had its problems when mud infiltrated the mains water system and many homes were without water for 6 or more days. Fortunately, the authorities were quick to act, in the face of awful working conditions and things are pretty much back to normal now.
For us, as agents, it meant many country viewings had to be cancelled, but, hopefully we are nearing the end of this unprecedented weather cycle and we can return to refering to our country as 'Sunny Spain'!
